Michael is the proud father to Graham and Reid Pierce, both diagnosed with Fragile X Syndrome. He serves as President /Co-Founder of the family foundation. As a lifelong Medford resident, Michael earned a BS in Finance and MBA from Bentley University. He is a Vice President at Fidelity Investments in Boston as well as the co-owner of Pierce Properties Real Estate located in Medford. Along with his wife, Kathan, they are now dedicated to finding a cure for Fragile X.
Kathan B. Pierce
Chief Financial Officer / Co- Founder
Kathan is the proud mother to her sweet boys, Graham and Reid. She serves as Chief Financial Officer / Co-Founder of the family foundation. She holds a BS in Business Administration from Villanova University and MBA/MS in Accounting from Boston College. Originally from Nashua, NH she now calls Medford her home. Kathan has held previous senior positions at Fidelity Investments and Liberty Mutual Insurance while recently staying home full-time to care for Graham and Reid.
Christine M. Pierce
Christine is sister to co-founder Michael, Auntie to Graham and Reid, and Godmother to sweet Graham. As a lifelong Medford resident she is so honored and happy to be asked to join this amazing family foundation. She has a degree from Quinnipiac University and has been a Social Worker with the Department of Children and Families for the past 16 years servicing at-risk children and families of the Commonwealth. She is committed to charge forward to educate, raise awareness and funds to assist in finding a cure that will give these sweet boys the life that they deserve.
Jessica and Kathan are lifelong friends growing up in Nashua, NH. She is the proud Godmother of sweet, lovable Reid. Jessica has a BA in Communication from the University of New Hampshire. She is a Vice President at North American Management Corporation in Boston. She, her husband, and two children reside in Wakefield. She looks forward to Graham, Reid and her children to be best of friends just like their moms.
Matthew J. Pierce
Matthew is a life-long Medford resident and is the proud Uncle and Godfather to both Graham and Reid as well as the twin brother to Co- Founder, Michael Pierce. Matthew is a Senior Vice President at Leader Bank and is also the Co-Founder of Pierce Properties Real Estate. He has a BS in Finance from Quinnipiac University. Matthew, his wife and 3 children reside in Medford. Matthew is honored to be able serve on the Board and support the mission and vision of the Foundation with tremendous efforts on creating greater awareness and ultimately a cure for Fragile X.
James "Bud" W. Pierce, Jr.
Chairman of the Board
Bud is a lifelong Medford resident and the father of Michael Pierce and beloved "Papa" to Graham and Reid. Bud brings a wealth of relationships and experience to the board. He served his country in the United States Air Force; worked 33 years at the MBTA; owned and operated two successful restaurants, and was a past Commodore of the Medford Boat Club. He serves as the Chairman of the Board of the family foundation.
John Doherty -Honorary Board Member
John was very proud to be the father of Kathan, and the "Poppa" of Graham and Reid. John earned a BA from University of New Hampshire and a Master's of Education from Antioch College. John worked as an industrial engineer at the Nashua Corporation until becoming a self-employed management consultant, specializing in cost and efficiency improvements of many Fortune 100/500 companies. John completed his career by returning to the field of public education, spending ten years as a school principal. In November 2016, John passed away after a 6-year battle with pancreatic. He was integral in making this foundation a success and will continue to be part of our ongoing mission.
Theresa is a Singer, Songwriter, Bass player, Pianist, Teacher, dedicated Community Volunteer, Technical Wizard, Web Applications Developer and mother to two fantastic kids. Theresa has dedicated countless hours towards helping us design and develop this website. She has a degree from Western Oregon State College and resides in Medford. Theresa has known and helped care for Graham and Reid all their lives and is wholeheartedly committed to using her skills to help find a cure for these sweet boys.
